It was quite a nice contrast to go from having to deal with 27 degrees Fahrenheit to 27 degrees Celsius. The second I stepped off the plane, I felt like I was home. We arrived on a rainy Tuesday. More than rainy, it was torrential. But after that downpour, we were blessed with glorious weather and cloudless skies for the rest of the week. I am always so fascinated with how deep the blue of the sky is in that part of the world, I couldn't stop taking photos. In Montevideo, I got to spend time with my godmother, reminiscing on the life of her wonderful son who left us too soon. It was a lovely celebration of life. I got to see amazing people who were my best friends when I lived there ten years ago. When I saw them, it's like I had never left. In Punta del Este, we got to go to James and Alexandra's wedding which was dream like. The day was beautiful, the ceremony was touching, and the party went literally all night. I got to spend hours lying on the beach, my mind blank taking in nothing but the warmth of the sun, the salt of the breeze, and melody of the waves rhythmically crashing on the shore. It was a wonderful getaway, and I already cannot wait to go back.
